Downloading Ubuntu
If you already have an Ubuntu CD then you can skip this and move on to
lesson 2. If you already have the iso file
downloaded but not burned to a CD, skip to the second part of this lesson.
Download
- Go to the Ubuntu home page and click on
the Download link in the Get Ubuntu section on the left panel.

- You should have the Desktop Edition option selected for a standard personal
computer. Select a location in the United States to download from. Click Start
Download.
- Your browser should open up with a download box for the iso file. Choose to
save the file to a specific location (a location that you can remember later).
The file may take a while to download so be patient. Once the file is finished
downloading, move on to the next part - Burn.
Burn
- Inser a blank CD-R into your computer.
- Open up your CD burning software that has support for burning iso images.
- Select the tool for bruning iso images and choose the iso file you just
downloaded. This will also take some time to burn so be patient.

- Once the CD finishes burning, you are ready to move on to the next lesson -
Installing Ubuntu.
Congratulations, you have finished Lesson 1;
