Objectives

The students will...

  • add each other as friends on the Scratch website.
  • complete their first conversation project.
  • share their project on the Scratch website.
  • demonstrate their work to the rest of the class.

Working Out the Kinks

Yesterday we worked out a number of kinks in our Scratch environment. We:

  1. solved the mouse pad problem by attaching USB mice to our XOs.
  2. learned how to connect to the Internet using a wireless access point.
  3. learned how to create Scratch projects and to add sprites and change backgrounds.
  4. created accounts on the Scratch website.
  5. had some time to begin exploring the Sugar Learning Environment.

Today we will build on what we started yesterday. We will finish our first project and share it with the class using the Scratch website. We will start a second project where we make a ball bounce around the stage, and we will have some more time to look at other things we can do with Sugar.
